SG$42.00

Winery Notes: McLaren Vale, SA. &0% Cabernet, 30% Shiraz. Deep colour with bright purple hues. Lifted Christmas cake aromas and while the vanillin oak is obvious, has had one year in bottle on release. The oak is matched by strong fruit, a rich mouth feel and the warmth that McLaren Vale is renowned for. Tobacco Cabernet Sauvignon flavours and ripe dusty tannins make for a very pleasing and very drinkable red.

SG$33.00

Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Merlot South Eastern Australia Excellent colour and mid-density. Being 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Shiraz it is more of the classic Aussie blend Cabernet/Shiraz. Lifted dark fruit and cedar notes on the nose. A rich mouth feel from the McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Fine tannins with the oak very much in the background ensuring great drinkability. Winemaker Comments The 25th vintage of Cricket Pitch Red (not counting the 1986) is both multi-varietal and multi-regional. Nearly 60% of fruit was from NSW with Gundagai and Central Ranges providing the bulk. Both regions enjoyed trouble free vintages. The...

Sauvignon Blanc Semillon New South Wales Great colour on release, lots of green tints in this young and easy drinking wine. With the cool, damp start to vintage 2016 the alcohol is more like that of a Hunter Valley Semillon at 11.5%, but with plenty of lifted tropical fruit aromas. Some melon and bees wax notes from the Semillon to go with the herbal/tropical Sauvignon Blanc. Citrus flavours on the palate and a zesty finish. Winemaker Comments We’re quite proud to introduce this wine as it is the 26th vintage of the blend. The label didn’t get the full Cricket Pitch livery until the 1995 vintage, although the Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot...

Orange, NSW On release a very bright colour with pale green tints. Bottled and released early, the aromas show lovely talc and herbal Sauvignon Blanc lift. Definitely no green asparagus notes. A lively palate with passionfruit, talc citrus flavours and fresh lime juice acidity. Perfect weight at 13% alcohol giving a long finish. Excellent drinking as the weather warms up.

Canberra District, ACT Being from a cooler year - medium density colour. The combination of region and whole bunch has given the aroma a real red spice/ginger lift to it. Quite intriguing aromas. The palate starts out with soft red berry flavours and long fine tannins. Low oak impact but some vanilla sweetness does compliment the savoury fruit element. A Murrumbateman Shiraz that epitomises the cool climate style that Australian wine drinkers are devouring rapidly.

92 points James Halliday, AWC 2017. Hunter Valley, NSW Mid-density colour typical of the Hunter Valley. Lifted red cherry aromas and earthy notes. The charry oak is part of the nose but in the background. Quite a rich, flavoursome palate of fine tannins and maraschino cherry notes, not unexpected as this wine is mostly from the 1968 old vines. Balanced and appealing for early to medium drinking.

Hunter Valley, NSW Beautiful green/yellow colour with great aromas of fresh apple and tropical fruits. These carry to the palate and are given a bit more prominence due to the slightly riper grapes. The sweetness is balanced by the fresh apple acidity that runs through to the finish. With 10.5% alcohol, this is a refreshing and easy drinking wine.

93 points Wine Enthusiast. 93 points Stephen Tanzer. 93 points Wine and Spirits Magazine. Gold Medal NSW Wine Awards 2014. Gold Medal Royal Adelaide Wine Show 2014. Hunter Valley, NSW At 6 years at release, the colour is bright yellow/green. This vineyard on the flats on Oakey Creek Road has produced the majority of our reserve Semillons over the years. The aromas are pure Hunter Valley Semillon – part lemon grass and part toasted almond. Similar characters on the palate, texture from the bottle age and nougat and mandarin peel flavours will develop further with bottle age. A superb zesty finish.

Brokenwood Pinot Gris 2016

SG$39.00
SG$39.00

Beechworth, VIC Pinot Gris grapes can be quite coloured, even pink in some years; this wine is a lovely yellow/green. Aromas of honeysuckle and pear. Richness from the 13.5% alcohol and some phenolic ‘grip,’ but not oily in any sense. The tropical fruit flavours are nicely balanced by a zesty acid. Winemaker Comments Pinot Gris is widely planted in Alsace, France and is in fact a mutation of Pinot Noir, best noted for its coloured berries and sometimes deeply coloured wine (for a white that is). Pinot Grigio, as it is known in Italy, ranges from a full bodied white to a rather plain wine if picked before full ripeness. In terms of...

SG$42.00

Beechworth, VIC This Pinot Noir is full of red cherry and ripe fruit tannins. Limpid light density Pinot colour with distinct maraschino cherry, almost Campari like aromas which follow to the palate. This wine will continue to mature, but on release at 2 years old it is a very enjoyable and vibrant Pinot Noir. Winemaker Comments Brokenwood has been producing Pinot Noir from the Indigo Vineyard since 2002. As there are three clones planted over different sites there is the opportunity to process as a number of different parcels. Hence we have the varietal bottling as well as Single Vineyard wines. Beechworth is a very important region for us...

SG$120.00

95 points James Halliday AWC 2017. McLaren Vale, SA & Hunter Valley, NSW. In years we are unable to release our flagship Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz, we blend the best of its fruit with the Wade Block 2 Vineyard in McLaren Vale. Lifted red and dark fruit aromas, some plum and ripe cherry. Beautifully integrated oak, but low impact as we are now using 100% French oak and not much of it is new. Firm, ripe tannins underpin the pastille sweet fruit across the mid palate. Red fruit and fine tannins from the Hunter Valley and Turkish delight from McLaren Vale. As always with the Quail (and HBA), the sum is greater than the parts.

McLaren Vale, SA Another great release for this iconic Single Vineyard wine. A lovely colour which is not quite as dense as some previous McLaren Vale wines. A stylish Shiraz from the Vale and one to age over the long term.

94 points, James Halliday AWC 2017. 2014 Shiraz, Area Blend. An excellent McLaren Vale vintage and the Hunter Shiraz shines at 25%. Everything about this wine is medium bodied. Some purple edges evident and quite floral/rose petal aromas. The palate has lovely weight and fruit spice flavours. The blend works perfectly. Low oak impact and ripe tannins for a great finish. Winemaker Comments A warm to hot vintage was experienced in McLaren Vale with two heat waves, one in January and one in February. The vintage was aided by February rain and cooler temperatures ensured slower ripening. The Hunter Valley saw lower crop and low foliage meaning...

New South Wales This wine is deep gold in colour with intense citrus peel aromas combining honey and caramelised sugar notes. The flavours swamp the palate, luscious crème brûlée, glacé fruit and sweetness. The citrus acidity prevents any sign of cloying characters and balances the high sugar. A perfect example of our Sticky Wicket.

97 points, James Halliday AWC 2017. Hunter Valley, NSW A true Hunter Valley Shiraz on all accounts, lifted cool year aromas of red ginger and spice with noticeable char oak and medium density colour. At 13% alcohol, the wine has a medium-bodied palate with plenty of earthy, bramble notes. Red cherry fruit characters, fruit tannin and the oak at this early stage is noticeable but not obtrusive. A wine that is drinking well now but will age gracefully. Winemaker Comments Our first release from the famous Tallawanta Vineyard. Planted in 1920, this vineyard has consistently produced outstanding Hunter Valley Shiraz. If we have said it once, we...
