Very alluring and expressive on the nose, with a floral richness. Lovely balance between amplitude and nuance: the mousse is particularly fine and soft, but the finish is long and pristine. Classy and hugely charming Rosé.
JCL 92 Tasting note: Lean, focused, detailed Champagne with beautiful, fine acidity. The dosage here is very low - only 6 gm/litre and the focus is on the racy acidity and citrus profile. A year or two of bottle age should round out the sharp acidity and make the wine more harmonious. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink. (27-Nov-2013) [Asian Palate Jeannie Cho Lee]
When the Rothschilds decide they want to get into (for them) a relatively new area of winemaking, it is worth paying attention. No expense was spared in producing their range of top class champagnes. They haven't got the kudos and gravitas that comes with making champagne for a hundred years plus but they have a habit of rewriting and/or making history and we think the quality in the glass will win over all doubters over time. Tasting note: A lean Champagne that relies heavily on Chardonnay - 60%. This is an elegant, focused Champagne with hints of pear, lemon and starfruit. Subtle and classy. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink....
Tasting note: A lean and angular Rose with just a hint of salmon-pink colour. An elegant style with focused acidity and lacy details with notes of strawberries and pomelo on the palate. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink. (27-Nov-2013) [Asian Palate Jeannie Cho Lee]
Grape variety is the Glera (100%). This Bepin the Eto Prosecco Superiore has a light straw color. At first in the nose freshly baked bread followed by fruit such as peach, apples and pears with a refined impression of rose petals. In the mouth, the Bepin de Millesimato has a fresh and sharp but smooth acidity. Slightly sweet despite its denotation of Extra Dry - the Italians beat to their own drum.
Pale straw yellow color with greenish reflections, impeccable in the clarity enriched by a minute and incessant perlage very bright. The olfactory stage is composed of tones of exotic fruit, acacia, wild flowers, citrus fruits and suffused trace of minerality, flint, Mediterranean bunch. At the sip it shows a remarkable personality, which makes use of a perfect balance and an important flavour. The mineral finish is long and fresh, trademarks for the Rive region. Steely and dry.
A star find for us at Vinitaly in Verona last year. We are very happy to show the latest vintage. The unique (patented) bottle design is a standout and thankfully the contents are as well. Vibrant pink colour with hints of cherries and strawberries on the nose, clean fresh fruit on the palate with crisp acid holding it all together for a dry finish. A real crowd pleaser.
Conegliano lies in the Valdobiaddene region of Veneto from which the very best of prosecco is sourced.. The only more prestigious sebregion is Cartizze (see Villa Sandi for our version). There are many other cheaper versions available in the market but for the few dollars more that the good stuff demands in price, there really is no point in skimping.
We have been looking for a good example of this style for a long time and we think we have it nailed with this one. Too often you will find sparkling moscato expressed as overly sweet, cloying and boring. This beauty however has a great acid backbone that lifts the fruit, tames the sweetness in the middle palate and delivers a long and deliciously sweet finish with no hint of cloying. Delightful as an aperatif, served ice cold.
~ Buy Six and Pay $75 per Bottle net~ A perennial favourite. BC 94, G&G 90. Tasting note: An ethereal champagne that is head an shoulders above New World methode sparklers that look crude by comparison. Very attractive wine that’s all about power delivered with great subtelty. Lovely fresh bread yeastiness. Bone dry. (17-Jul-2006) [Bob Campbell] Tasting note: Beautiful light gold. Elegantly fruity, slightly jammy nose. Fleshy, melted, full mouthfeel, delicately infused with fruit. Closely-integrated, long, extremely harmonious. A very successful dry sparkling wine. (29-Jan-2010) [Gilbert & Gaillard] BBBLL
Recommended Retail Price: $120. G&G 94, HH 94, BC 93, WS 94. Indicative blend: : 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay, 15% Meunier Tasting note: Golden hue. Classic nose where mocha, gingerbread, a fruity, biscuity background and underlying touch of rancio intermix. Opulent, creamy mouthfeel, vinous style, full, rich in aroma, balanced by wonderful freshness. The epitome of art. (23-Oct-2009) [Gilbert & Gaillard] Tasting note: Weighty wine with quite strong aldehydes and plenty of bready yeast character. Long and with a lovey texture. Big, mouthfilling wine with character and appeal. [Bob Campbell] A rich, smoky champagne, with hints of marzipan...
"Gorgeous bubbles." Hugh Johnson Dec 2016. This new venture in the South of England is the carefully planned project of none other than our good friend and famous wine personality, Steven Spurrier. He , his wife Arabella (Bella) and daughter Kate have set out with a goal to produce world class sparkling wine from a region that centuries ago rivalled the great vineyards of Champagne. After many year of searching they found a plot with precisely the same chalky suboill structure as the best of the grand cru vineyards of Champagne and planted it with the best clones available. Winery Notes: Typically a blend of 50% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay...

Tyson Stelzer 93+. "With...thirty percent declassified premier cru fruit in the blend, this is as cracking as I have ever seen Brut 17. A pristine bouquet of vibrant lemons and strawberry hull opens out into a palate of fantastic, linear freshness with great persistence, a fine, creamy bead and refreshing minerality. An ideal aperitif style. This champagne ranks as among the best value small producer champagnes. Super elegant champagne style." TS.
Forbes Magazine ~ "The Best champagne you've never heard of." This delightful Rosé Champagne is sourced entirely from Premier Cru grapes. It has managed to climb a crowded ladder to become Gordon Ramsay's restaurants' best selling Rosé champagne, and scores higher with the critics than the big name champagne houses at half the price. Decanter Magazine ~ Top 50 Wines of the Year James Suckling ~ 95 Points ~ "Outstanding buy with a whopping nine years en tirage, this has a super contained set of complex aromas - toasty yeast notes, grilled almonds and red berries all packed in close and tight. WS 90, WE 90, G&G 89. Tasting note: Light gold. The nose opens up to vegetal and floral notes then displays a fruity and lightly toasted character. Full, supple and melted attack with refined texture and bubbles. The mid-palate is more nervy, imparting a pleasant freshness. (28-Feb-2013) [Gilbert & Gaillard]
The NV Brut Premier is a gorgeous wine that stands head and shoulders above the vast majority of wines in its price range. Apparently, it is quite possible to make great Champagne that doesn’t cost a small fortune. Ripe pears, smoke, spices, dried flowers and herbs are some of the many nuances that emerge from the glass. The Brut Premier shows lovely mid-palate depth and fabulous overall balance. Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon has done it again. This is a fabulous Brut Premier. The Brut Premier is based on the 2007 vintage, with approximately 20% 2006 wines and 10% older reserves going back to 1996. The blend is approximately 40%...
Winery Notes: Sparkling red wines are a great Australian tradition, and along with other wineries Majella has kept the tradition alive with our very popular sparkling Shiraz. Their Sparkling Shiraz is bottled fermented on "lees" for just on 48 months. The wine is then disgorged and a small amount of "liqueur" (sweetener) is added. In the true Aussie tradition they use some really fantastic vintage port. The wine is now packaged under a "Crown Seal" which eliminates any problems with leakage or cork taint. It's a great wine for any occasion, and goes well with most food styles. "Spicy licorice and intensely powerful Shiraz. Rich and leathery....

Now this is special. Made from 100% chardonnay grapes. Delightful. James Halliday 95 points. Tyson Stelzer 95 points. The vibrant yellow green colour is on full display in the clear glass bottle, but it needs to be protected from light. Perhaps complaining at this price is churlish, for the wine rides on the wings of flowery, lemon blossom aromas and an almost razor-sharp linearity to the wonderfully long palate leaving the mouth fresh, thirsting for more. RRP $125; Rating: 95 Points; James Halliday; Wine Companion.
In Gift Box All that one would expect from a balanced Champagne. Doesn't hit the high notes of the hand-crafted or more precise Champagnes but balanced and infinitely drinkable. (16-Oct-2012) Jeannie Cho Lee
3 glasses Gambero Rosso 2011/2012/2013/2014/2015/2016/2017... Recognised in top 100 wines by Grandi Cru d'Italia judging committee. This deliciously fresh, lively and dry style prosecco represents the very finest that Italy can offer. The Cartizze region comprises only 107 hectares and is the most revered of all for growing the glera grape from which prosecco is made. Cartizze is to prosecco what Mesnil is to champagne. Production is tiny and of the very highest quality. Outstanding. A must try. This is as good as prosecco gets....period.
Excellent bone dry prosecco that ticks all the boxes. Pure fruit, excellent persistent bead, crisp acidity and clean, dry finish. DOCG quality through and through.
