Chat Teyssier Les Asteries Grand Cru St Emilion 2004 1.5L Magnum

SG$140.00
SG$140.00

This single vineyard wine is made from a hectare plot on 'Astéries' (rock limestone) soil between Château Fonroque and Clos Fourtet. The vines survived the frost of 1956 and are up to eighty years old. Panachéed in the old style (merlot interspersed with cabernet franc to ensure easy blending in the days before pumps) they are cropped down to four bunches per vine to reflect the terroir of the parcel. Unlike most of the wines of the Château, Les Astéries exhibits a strain of minerality that emphasizes the rocky sub-soil. The wine is pure vineyard rather than a winemaker's wine. Huge color, high extraction of black fruits, totally...

Chateau Canon 2012 (OWC 6)

SG$105.00
SG$105.00

JS 91-93, JCL 91, WE 93, WA 92+ Tasting note: A beautiful wine with gorgeous velvety texture and great depth. Layered, fairly dense with an array of flavours - plums, blackberries and hint of cedar. Lovely texture and length. Tasted twice, this wine showed well both times. (01-Apr-2013) [Asian Palate Jeannie Cho Lee] The 2012 is the first truly profound Canon under the administration of the Wertheimers, the family that owns the famous haute couture house of Chanel. Improvement has been noticeable for a number of years, but this wine is remarkable, particularly in view of a more challenging vintage. The color is a healthy dark ruby/purple,...

SG$79.00

WA 93 The flagship wine from the Decoster family, this blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon has been a hugely successful wine since they acquired this 58-acre estate and revolutionized the level of quality. This is consistently one of the best St.-Emilions and over-achieving for its classification. The 2012 has pure, striking aromatics of blueberry, black raspberry, minerals and flowers. Medium to full-bodied, ripe and multi-dimensional, with a beautiful texture, this is stunning wine that completely dominates its classification and over-delivers in terms of quality and potential longevity. It should drink well...

SG$108.00
SG$108.00

WA 90-92. An outstanding sleeper of the vintage, the 2005 may turn out to be one of the finest examples yet of this modern-styled St.-Emilion. Nicely oaked, ripe but not over-ripe, it possesses a deep ruby/purple color as well as sweet scents of pain grille, kirsch liqueur, and black currants. Ripe, medium to full-bodied, and rich, with good glycerin as well as freshness, and a long, heady finish, this succulent offering should be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years.RPJ Apr 2006.

SG$105.00
SG$105.00

WA 93+ Another wine made by the superstar guru Nicolas Thienpont, this well-situated property of 37 acres on the high clay/limestone plateau in St.-Emilion has produced a blend of 84 % Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. A masculine, virile style of wine with an inky deep purple color, lots of crème de cassis and crushed rock and high tannin. This is thick and powerful, with a layered mouthfeel, good purity, earthiness and spice. Forget it for 4-5 years and drink if over the following two decades. RPJ Apr 2015.

SG$75.00

WA 91 Made from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, with a saturated ruby/purple color and dense black cherry and plum-like fruit pushing ripeness to the limit, on the palate the wine is medium to full-bodied, pure, ripe and nicely textured, with soft, round tannins. This is a very successful effort from Rol Valentin that can be approached early on or drunk over the following 10-15 years.RPJ April 2015.

Chateau Troplong Mondot 2012 (OWC 12)

SG$140.00
SG$140.00

WA 96. The 2012 is another truly great wine from Troplong Mondot. It’s always sentimental to taste this wine, realizing that proprietress Christine Valette (the larger-than-life heart and soul behind this estate) has passed away. She was one of the bright, shining stars of Bordeaux. Nevertheless, her legacy is certainly well-established, and the quality of this wine is beyond reproach. Inky bluish purple, its great notes of cassis, blackberry, licorice are followed by a full-bodied, opulently textured wine with stunning concentration, purity and overall balance. It should drink well for 20-25 years and turn out to be one of the great...

Daniel Rion Nuits St Georges "Les Hauts Pruliers" 1er Cru 2014

SG$90.00
SG$90.00

WINERY NOTES: In the vineyard... This parcel of 46 ares consists of a kind of terrace on a steep slope, in mid slope (275m). The shallow ground of brown-limestone, consists of gravel, clayey silts, on hard limestone. The forty year old vines are of sufficient age to produce balanced and concentrated grapes. In the glass... Cehe name would come from small wild plum trees found in certain waste lands and whose tannins cling to the gums. This Nuits is thus a sensual and sharp wine, with a rather masculine personality, perhaps not pleasing to the untrained amateurs. Its power confers an excellent potential of aging. With age, it will develop dry...

SG$90.00

WINERY NOTES: In the vineyard... Located in northern Nuits-Saint-Georges, this part of the vineyard is situated on brown limestones and stony grounds, with fine texture of clay and silts on the surface, and more clayey underneath. The presence of marls rich in fossil oysters gives this wine its characteristics. The vineyard is rather shallowly inclined, on 41 ares, and the vines are 30 to 55 years old. In the glass... This Premier Cru is not the most typical of the Nuits Saint Georges appellation. As its name indicates, it presents great roundness and smoothness, reminiscent of wines closer to Vosne Romanée.
