"...Why Pay Retail...?"

Beer is as much part of life in Singapore as the humidity, the unending road works, lunchtime hawker centre queues and the sky-high cost of pretty much everything connected to Marina Bay Sands. No matter how one goes on about wine and the perfect food match, and the fact that I put on weight just thinking about a freezing cold glass of it at the end of the day - nothing beats beer...
After the success of the El Bulli (more on right hand side) and Japanese beers of last year, we had a bit of a look around and came up with a killer lineup - with a murderously good discount if you take 12 - and you dont even have to lug them home from the store.
The Offer - Mix `n Match - All @ $10 net each
Buy Any 12 or more and get 10% Discount....
Chimay Red (Trappist 7%) (330ml)
Belgium`s most popular of Trappist beers. Brewed by monks at the Notre-Dame de Scourmont Abbey - in total silence - sounds like my perfect weekend getaway.
"Dark fruity with subtle yeasty notes and elements of thyme and juniper." A lot easier drinking than many of the traditional Chimmays - I like this one a lot.
Westmalle Tripel (Trappist 9.5%) (330ml)
First brewed in 1834. Be careful of the alcohol here. Should have a warning on it against pregnant women driving heavy machinery with this.
"Deep golden, very complex and aromatic, full flavors such as orange, banana and rich malt sweetness."
It will put hairs on your chest.
Pauwel Kwak (Artisanal 8.4%) (300ml)
Double fermented for deeper, creamier richness, it displays earth aromas and a light vanilla/licorice aftertaste. Fresh caramel full bodied aftertaste.
Palm Special (Artisanal, 5.4%) (300ml)
An exceptionally fresh, clean and well rounded Belgian amber ale. Aromas of toasty malt, a bitter-orange palate and a tartly refreshing finish. There is a purity about this one which bodes well for a hot Sunday afternoon.
Timmermans Framboise/Raspberry (Fruit Lambic, 4%)(250ml)
A spontaneoulsy fermented beer with fresh rich fruit flavors arising from the addition of crushed fruit during the fermentation process. Good with game or pretending you are on a ski-slope.
Maes Pils (Pilsner, 5.2%)(300ml)
A low-fermentation crisp golden lager with clean light malt characters and a pleasant hint of hop bitterness.
- Everything is 330ml except the Timmermans which is 250ml;
- Delivery from next week;
- All beers are well within their expiry date.
