Like all Kilikanoon's Rieslings, no frills to the vinification, just attention to detail. Incongruously, it is a blend of three vineyards. The bouquet owes as much to minerally notes as to citrus fruit, and the palate duly brings structure and length for the lemon/lime flavours and firm finish. JH.
Made as a blend of three higher altitude Watervale sites, all fruit was hand picked and sorted with only free run juice used for the final cuvee.
Pale straw in appearance with brilliant clarity and youthful green tints.
Lifted floral notes and intense citrus flavours are a highlight of the nose, well supported by lemon curd and fresh limes.
The cooler nature of the vintage has resulted in an intensely flavoured and tightly wound Riesling style, with bracing natural acidity beautifully harmonising the juicier lime and citrus flavours of the variety. Its long and persistent finish the perfect indication that this vintage will be one to reward with further cellaring time to increase its complexity and appeal.
