JH 94
Fruit, oak and tannin, all working in harmony. This is a wine with a sense of authority. Sweet-sour cherries, spice and dried tobacco, with clips of resiny, toasty oak. Tannin is fierce but the fruit flavour has enough momentum to swing along with it. Drink to: 2025; Price: $45.00; Date Tasted: Feb 2015; Alcohol: 14%; Rating: 94 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday; James Halliday Wine Companion.

Winery Notes:
Our flagship wine, Sagrantino stands out as one italy’s premium varieties, originating from Umbria. We have the largest planting of Sagrantino vines in Australia. This deep ruby red wine produces a whack of upfront aged stewed fruits on the palate, slowly integrating into some dusty and chalky tannins. On the nose, ripe jammy stewed dark fruits, mulberry, black currant. The palate has these same ripe black fruits, plums with a well balanced oak integration. Both fruit and oak tannins coat the whole mouth and linger together.
