Wine Advocate 93+ The Cantina Tramin 2019 Alto Adige Pinot Noir Riserva Maglen reveals a medium dark color with good complexity and robust aromas of dark cassis, wild cherry, black rose and grilled herb. Aged in barrique for 12 months with six months cement and six months bottle, the wine delivers good fruit weight with soft tannins and broad intensity. In that regard, this is not your classic northern Italian Pinot Noir. This 11,000-bottle release could pair with gamey foods such as wild game hen, thanks to that extra intensity. ML Dec 2022. James Suckling 93 points. This really shows how much Alto Adige’s winemakers have learned about pinot noir winemaking during the last years. Lively and fragrant, it nonetheless has depth and structure, without the oak in any way being obtrusive. I love the bright sour-cherry fruit at the front, as much as the slightly earthy depth at the long, moderately dry finish. Drink or hold. Maglen Pinot Nero Riserva is a selection of precious grapes from two adjacent and complementary areas: historic vineyards on the Mazon plateau and steep and sunny vineyards in Glen. It typifies the elegance of Italian Pinot noir. Colour: ruby with light garnet hues Aroma: sour cherry, cherry, forest fruits, orange and scents of spice Taste: fine fruit with a salty freshness, delicate and elegant, with a long finish and pleasant fruity tannins #CT
