Wine Advocate 91 points. As I noted last year, I like Donatella Cinelli Colombini's base Brunello more than her 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Prime Donne selection. Compared to the annata, this wine is slightly less expressive. It offers a horizontal delivery of aromas with bold cherry, blackberry, leather and spice. It shows broad shoulders and tight muscular definition. Perhaps the bouquet is slightly less brilliant. Nonetheless, this is an opulent expression that bursts open with dark cherry fruit, soft tannins and bright acidity. The wine's softness suggests you can drink it sooner rather than later.ML Mar 2016.
