WINERY NOTES: Made with Pinot Noir grapes, aged in oak barrels for up to 14 months. Pinot Noir is a relatively uncommon grape variety in Piedmont, but it is very important for our family's winemaking tradition. In fact, we gave this wine the name of our ancestor Leopoldo Incisa della Rocchetta, among the first ampelography and wine scientist, who lived in the 1800s. Leopoldo Incisa created at the time a vast collection of vines from other regions, experimenting with the cultivation in his own vineyards on the hills of Rocchetta Tanaro. Pinot Noir became his favorite grape and the one from which he drew the greatest satisfaction. We keep this tradition alive today by cultivating Pinot Noir in the same vineyards where Leopoldo began his experiments with this grapevine. Tasting notes Color: intense ruby red. Aromatic Profile: varietal, hints of blueberry and ripe cherry, spicy notes, tobacco and other tertiary aromas with the evolution in the bottle. Taste: highlights a very pronounced fruit, precise and elegant finish, structured with fine and sweet tannins. Suggested serving temperature: 18-20 °C (65-68 °F) Aging: Pinot Noir Marquis Leopoldo benefits from aging in the bottle. It can be consumed immediately, just put on the market, even if it starts to express itself at its best after at least 2 years of aging in bottle. It maintains its best characteristics for about 10 years.
