THE 2015 VINTAGE WAS ITALIAN WHITE WINE OF THE YEAR. The 2017 vintage follows in the same vein of its predecessors in delivering excellent quality at a very fair price. The Fondazione Italiana Sommelier has voted this remarkable wine as the winner of the "Oscar" for Italian White Wine of the Year 2016. (April 2016). "Editor's Note Wine Spectator Dec 2017. Drink now through 2021. 10,800 cases made.–AN" This underpriced stunner is well known to Italians as...
We have been looking for a good example of this style for a long time and we think we have it nailed with this one. Too often you will find sparkling moscato expressed as overly sweet, cloying and boring. This beauty however has a great acid backbone that lifts the fruit, tames the sweetness in the middle palate and delivers a long and deliciously sweet finish with no hint of cloying. Delightful as an aperatif, served ice cold.
Morgante only deal with two elements....magnificent olive oil and the best Nero d'Avola grapes on planet Earth. Enigmatic, eccentric and unexpected… Bianco di Morgante is a white wine vinified from red grapes. The colour is soft golden yellow with greenish hues, the tannic texture is typical of a red wine with balanced acidity, a fruity trail and lingering finish. Bianco di Morgante pairs well with risottos, shellfish and fish dishes. Ideal served chilled.
~ Buy Six and Pay $30 net Each ~ Mix and Match with other Bibi wines is fine we will manually invoice you afterwards. Casamatta at the very beginning was an IGT Toscana, but Bibi was not 100% satisfied about the results. So in 2010 he decided to bet on a bizarre way of production, solera method. Everybody thought he was completely mad, because in Italy there is no appellations for Solera so the only way to produce a solera was to declassify from IGT Toscana to No Vintage. At that time Casamatta (which translates as mad house in English) was probably the only solera made in Italy. Bibi’s vision was that by mixing different vintages the wine...
Dessert wine. Golden tending to amber. Saffron, iodine note, candied apricot, honey and custard on the nose. Beautiful acid component. Mineral and toasted almond finish. Delicious. Malvasia 40%, Riesling 20%, Traminer 20%, Petit Manseng 20%.
Bibenda 4 stars TASTING NOTES – light, golden yellow – intense nose, rose blossoms, lychee, cloves, cinnamon, a hint of sage, complex and multi-faceted – dense volume on the palate, very clean and direct, tropical fruit on the lingering finish.

Only the very best grapes are selected for separate premium maturation in oak. The lovely 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Bianco Quintessenz (with 10,000 bottles made) is a fragrant and bright white wine that delivers warm-vintage intensity and extra textural layering. These qualities add to the intensity and the fiber of the wine, which would pair beautifully next to risotto con crema di scampi or other shellfish dishes. Pretty aromas of Golden Delicious apple, poached pear, yellow peach and fresh almond rise from the...
Wine Advocate 92 points. The 2017 Alto Adige Chardonnay Saleit is a fresh and tonic white wine that is ripe with fruity primary aromas. Preserved lemon, passion fruit and garden-fresh basil all play leading aromatic roles. The wine is textured and rich in terms of mouthfeel, not too much, but just enough to pair with seafood risotto or baked halibut. I love the zesty personality and immediate accessibility of this super refreshing Chardonnay. Bottle production is 40,000 units strong. ML Sept 2018.
WA 88+. All your notions of commercial Pinot Grigio are forever changed once you try a quality expression like this from Alto Adige in Northern Italy. The 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio Soll offers tension and spicy energy in the mouth with citrus oil, candied grapefruit and poached pear at the back. This vintage threw a lot of challenges at winemakers, but this grape maintains its varietal purity nonetheless. Drink this wine within the next 24 months. Some 25,000 bottles were produced. ML Sept 2018.
Wine Advocate 90+. This is a zesty and lively wine to pair with mango and raw shrimp ceviche. The 2017 Alto Adige Sauvignon Stern is a fresh and streamlined white wine with balanced acidity that cleans and revives the palate. The bouquet is beautifully redolent of passion fruit, sweet peach, Thai basil and preserved lemon. You get good value here, and the wine is reasonably accessible with 65,000 bottles produced. Winemaking is straightforward, and only 20% of the wine sees oak, with the rest of the mass aged briefly in stainless steel. ML Sept 2018.
James Suckling 91 points. Luca Maroni 91 points. Wine Advocate 90 points. The 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Bianco Vial exhibits a shy and reticent bouquet with mild tones of stone fruit and pear. Dusty mineral notes of flint and crushed stone also appear. This wine is transparent and luminous in appearance. Vial is a lean and compact white wine with a tightly knit texture that is silky and smooth on the palate. Give it another six to eight months to flesh out further. The finish is spicy and tart. Wine Advocate 93 points. The 2017 Alto Adige Stoan is a lasting and sophisticated white wine with enduring layers of ripe fruit, peach and pear. This oak-aged blend of Chardonnay (65%), Sauvignon Blanc (20%), Pinot Bianco (10%) and Gewürztraminer (5%) shows a slightly heavier center of gravity in this hot year. I'm suggesting a shorter drinking window compared to the previous vintage. Pair it with a chicken breast and mushroom dish. ML Jul 2019.
Wine Advocate 89 points. The 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio Unterebner is a delineated and crisp white wine that offers fragrant layers of honeysuckle, cantaloupe melon and Golden Delicious apple. Those strong fruit signatures are very heavy in the hot 2017 vintage that also delivers a bit more concentration and general richness. This is a lean-bodied white with enough depth and complexity to pair with shellfish or crab cakes with cilantro dressing. ML Jul 2019. Winemaking: At harvest, the grapes are delivered in small bins and immediately gently pressed. The must ferments slowly at controlled temperatures (18-20°C), partly in oak barrels (30...
Wine Advocate 93 points. The 2017 Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Nussbaumer is beautifully fragrant and redolent of honeysuckle and tropical fruit. The honey-like intensity is incredible. Classic textbook pinot grigio at its best. Pinot Grigio is more than just the Italian name for Pinot Gris. Although the two names refer to a single grape variety, the wine styles they represent are clearly distinct from one another. The difference between Pinot Grigio wines and Pinot Gris wines is so clear and well-established that the two are often treated as if they were two distinct varieties. The refreshing Pinot Grigio style has enjoyed great success in various countries, most recently the United States, (where it is fondly nicknamed "Greej") and Australia. The most common descriptors of the style are "light", "crisp" and "dry". These...
