Full, even, light golden-yellow colour, a little paler edged. The nose is softly full and voluminous with aromas of yellow stonefruits entwined with a complex layering of nutty lees and mineral notes. The aromatics show good depth and intensity. Medium-dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has rich flavours of yellow stonefruits melded with nuances of exotic florals and honeysuckle, unveiling a layer of nutty and flinty lees and complex mineral elements. The palate has an understated unctuousness balanced by acid and alcohol cut, and the wine flows along a smooth line, leading to a sustained finish of stonefruits, honey and flint. This is a rich and flavoursome medium-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral, honied and complexing flinty notes in the Alsace style. Match with poutry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented, 60% in seasoned oak and 40% in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 14 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. 18.5/20 Apr 2018
