Francis Orban leads 7.5 hectares of vineyards all in the commune of Leuvrigny, located on the right bank of the Marne, for an annual production of about 60,000 bottles, of which 80% are sold in France and the remaining 20% abroad . The Village of Leuvrigny is strongly characterized by three factors: an ideal southern exposure, an exceptional arigillo-calcareous terrain and a perfect microclimate, particularly suited to the cultivation of the Meunier Noir, a vine emblem of its property.
Six Champagnes are produced by Francis Orban and four of them with 100% Meunier Noir. The Cuvée Brut Réserve, Rosé, Extra Brut and Prestige consist of 50% of "vins de réserve"and aging on the lees in bottle is a minimum of 24 months for the first three and 36 months for the Cuvée Prestige. The bottles of Millésime and Cuvée L'Orbane remain in the cellar on the lees for at least 72 months. Meunier Noir, which represents 90% of Francis Orban's vineyard, is a vine that comes from Champagne and particularly expresses its roundness in Leuvrigny. The Cuvée L'Orbane, Meunier Noir 100% produced in a single parcel and not in all vintages. The base wine does not undergo any decanting during the period of aging on the yeasts in wooden barrels. A mix of new 300 litres and small used 128 litre barrels are used. No malolactic fermentation is carried out to respect the full expression and the whole structure of this Champagne. Meunier Noir 100%. Beautiful green reflections on a light gold, nose marked by freshness on fruity notes of absolute finesse, in the mouth the richness and aromatic complexity are affirmed. It is a fine and elegant Champagne, the result of an exceptional vintage. Extra Brut. Dosage 3-4 g/litre.
