Bob Campbell 93 points. Pure, pristine pinot gris with ripe tree fruit, apple and pear flavours, together with a seasoning of ginger from yeast lees contact. Silken-textured wine with just a hint of sweetness balanced by gentle acidity. An attractive wine made with a light touch 14 FEB 2018 BC 93 WINERY TASTING NOTES: A textural and saturating persistent Pinot Gris that has classic varietal characters of white flesh pear with nuances of shortbread and spice from the barrel ferments. The Central Otago natural acidity balancing the slight residual sweetness.
Bright and expressive nose with tropical notes of pineapple and mango. The palate is filled with fresh passionfruit and has vibrancy and texture that leads to a dry finish. Individual parcels of fruit were destemmed and fermented separately at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks, using various combinations of selected yeasts. Two parcels of late harvested fruit was whole bunch pressed to barrel for wild fermentation.
Cameron Douglas MW 94 points. Few people think Sauvignon Blanc when they think Martinborough, but the few producers who focus on it make some pretty sensational wines almost every year. Ata Rangi makes a highly textural style with clean, gentle acid and a nice leesy, creamy texture. Freshly packaged in a brand new bottle, with the truly befitting name of "Raranga" which means 'woven' in Maori, it is layers upon layers of attraction all balanced together perfectly. An outstanding wine in anyone's language, it's partially barrel fermented and will develop nicely over the first 5 years from vintage. Smells Kiwifruit, lime, flint and a hint of...
Grape variety is Glera (100%). This Bepin d' Eto Prosecco Superiore has a light straw colour. At first on the nose freshly baked bread followed by fruit such as peach, apples and pears with a refined impression of rose petals. In the mouth, the wine has a fresh and sharp but smooth acidity. Slightly sweet despite its denotation of Extra Dry - the Italians beat to their own drum.
Pale straw yellow color with greenish reflections, impeccable in the clarity enriched by a minute and incessant perlage very bright. The olfactory stage is composed of tones of exotic fruit, acacia, wild flowers, citrus fruits and suffused trace of minerality, flint, Mediterranean bunch. At the sip it shows a remarkable personality, which makes use of a perfect balance and an important flavour. The mineral finish is long and fresh, trademarks for the Rive region. Steely and dry. Conegliano lies in the Valdobiaddene region of Veneto from which the very best of prosecco is sourced.. In terms of prestige in the hierarchy of prosecco it sits 2 rungs below the sebregion of Cartizze. There are many other cheaper versions available in the market but for the few dollars more that the good stuff demands in price, there really is no point in skimping.
We have been looking for a good example of this style for a long time and we think we have it nailed with this one. Too often you will find sparkling moscato expressed as overly sweet, cloying and boring. This beauty however has a great acid backbone that lifts the fruit, tames the sweetness in the middle palate and delivers a long and deliciously sweet finish with no hint of cloying. Delightful as an aperatif, served ice cold.
Morgante only deal with two elements....magnificent olive oil and the best Nero d'Avola grapes on planet Earth. Enigmatic, eccentric and unexpected… Bianco di Morgante is a white wine vinified from red grapes. The colour is soft golden yellow with greenish hues, the tannic texture is typical of a red wine with balanced acidity, a fruity trail and lingering finish. Bianco di Morgante pairs well with risottos, shellfish and fish dishes. Ideal served chilled.
~ Buy Six and Pay $30 net Each ~ Mix and Match with other Bibi wines is fine we will manually invoice you afterwards. Casamatta at the very beginning was an IGT Toscana, but Bibi was not 100% satisfied about the results. So in 2010 he decided to bet on a bizarre way of production, solera method. Everybody thought he was completely mad, because in Italy there is no appellations for Solera so the only way to produce a solera was to declassify from IGT Toscana to No Vintage. At that time Casamatta (which translates as mad house in English) was probably the only solera made in Italy. Bibi’s vision was that by mixing different vintages the wine...
Hand-picked, 100% whole bunch pressed, Wild ferment, totally unfiltered, aged in Freanch oak puncheons. This is an artisinal wine of extraordinary purity. and finesse. 94 Points “Oak fermented and matured sauvignon blanc that's as much about texture as it is about grapefruit, guava, struck flint, mineral and passionfruit flavours. An impressive wine with power and purity." Bob Campbell MW, Real Reviews. 13/5/2019
Bob Campbell MW 93 points. “Meta’ means transformation, in this case by botrytis influence. It’s a rich and flavoursome wine with peach, honey, grapefruit marmalade and musk flavours. Initial sweetness contrasts with subtle steely acidity on the lengthy finish.” Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review. 5/2/2019 WINERY NOTE: We chose the name ‘Meta’ for our botrytised, late harvested Riesling, as it embodies the remarkable change of condition the grapes undergo as they are transformed by noble rot over the final weeks of Autumn. From healthy fruit into shrivelled but concentrated, intensely sweet berries; once harvested these have the...

Bob Campbell MW 93 points. Single vineyard Awatere Valley. “From the Blind River vineyard in the Awatere Valley. A powerful riesling with lime, lemon zest and subtle mineral flavours. Low pH and assertive acidity balances around 23g/l of residual sugar and builds a lovely tension to give a medium-dry finish. An impressive wine that will develop well.” 16/7/2018 93 Points. BC.
Bob Campbell MW 94 points. Single vineyard Marlborough. "Bone-dry sauvignon blanc, with impressive purity and pronounced oyster shell, mineral flavours together with gooseberry, grapefruit and citrus. Quite a textural wine with good weight and mouth-feel. 16/7/2018” 94 Points BC. WINERY NOTE: This single vineyard rendition of Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from the Holdaway Family vineyard at Dillons Point – our favourite sub region for the variety. It is a classic expression of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, being 100% tank fermented, but it offers complexity of texture and a mineral drive that summons river stones and sea spray....

~ Buy Six and Pay $32 net each ~ Arneis is a white wine grape variety from Italy's Piedmont wine region. In a story shared by several renascent grape varieties (most obviously Viognier), Arneis has been rescued from the verge of extinction and is now enjoying something of a revival. By the 1960s, just a few hectares of Arneis vines remained, and only a handful of producers were making the wine. There are now more than 1500 acres (605ha) of Arneis vines in Piedmont, and small quantities are also grown in California, Australia and New Zealand. This wine is a crisp, fresh and vibrant example of arneis. The nose is all about fresh cut white...
Bob Campbell MW 92 points. "Soft, fruit-focused chardonnay with pear, apple, nutty lees and very subtle chalky mineral flavours. An appealing wine with lovely purity. A low key chardonnay in a delicately tangy style." Winemaker’s comments: Closeburn is our un-oaked Chardonnay. The fruit is grown throughout the Central Otago region and exhibits the regions natural elegant fruit flavours and mineral complexity. The wine is fermented in tank to retain its bright fruit. It is then left to rest on its yeast lees to gain some doughy complexity and softness. This is a refreshing full-bodied wine, unencumbered by oak and superb with food. wine...

The new name "Sant'Antimo" is allowed only to wines made from grapes produced in the Montalcino area, a further enrichment to the already existing prestige of this wine. Ghiaie Bianche is a Chardonnay fermented in barrique from the grapes produced in the territory of Col d'Orcia, which gives the consumer the opportunity to appreciate the charm of Montalcino in the best variety of aromatic white grapes. In this wine we find all the depth and immensity of the Mediterranean summer.

Darling Cellars Arum Fields Chenin Blanc has an explosive tropical nose of ripe peaches, pears and most definitely guava. This wine is well balanced with great structure and a good mid palate with guava flavours following through on the taste and a well-rounded finish. A great value wine that will compliment seafood, salads and light dishes.
Darling Cellars Capeman Sauvignon Blanc opens up to aromas of green fig and tropical fruit such as watermelon, passion fruit and pineapple. These flavours follow through on the palate and are supported by a vibrant acidity that keeps the palate fresh.

The 2015 Fifth Leg Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, refreshing wine with lovely texture and balance. It's full of zesty, vivacious fruit with tropical notes of lychee and passionfruit.
