Very alluring and expressive on the nose, with a floral richness. Lovely balance between amplitude and nuance: the mousse is particularly fine and soft, but the finish is long and pristine. Classy and hugely charming Rosé. Sarah Abbott MW: "Very alluring and expressive on the nose, with a floral richness. Tasting note: A lean and angular Rose with just a hint of salmon-pink colour. An elegant style with focused acidity and lacy details with notes of strawberries and pomelo on the palate. Tasted in: Hong Kong, China. Maturity: Drink. (27-Nov-2013) [Asian Palate Jeannie Cho Lee] #rose
We have been looking for a good example of this style for a long time and we think we have it nailed with this one. Too often you will find sparkling moscato expressed as overly sweet, cloying and boring. This beauty however has a great acid backbone that lifts the fruit, tames the sweetness in the middle palate and delivers a long and deliciously sweet finish with no hint of cloying. Delightful as an aperatif, served ice cold.
"A fine straw-gold colour with great finesse of bubble flow and mousse. Joyful aromas of apple blossom and ripe pear. A full, defined palate demonstrates richness that will help to give this a long life in the cellar." Michael Edwards - Decanter 95/100. An uncommon blend of 40% pinot meunier and 30% each of pinot noir and chardonnay, with 40% reserve wines, fermented in a mix of tank and use of aged oak barrels. Deliberate choice of meunier is the key to its drink any time soon style, which combining elegance, finesse and great length. "Bold and robust, with attractive mineral, yeast and bready aromas. Showing some leesy evolution, a refined and rather lovely wine." Champagne Billecart-Salmon Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs has been elaborated from the four Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte des Blancs: Avize Chouilly Cramant Mesnil-sur-Oger This cuvée is a blend of two different years revealing the special quality of the Chardonnay. Its complexity, its great vinosity and the surprisingly fresh finish is particularly appreciated by the most informed wine lovers. 94 Points, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com: "A dense, layered Champagne with a full body and lots of creamy texture. Lovely cooked apple and pie crust. 40% pinot meunier, 30% chardonnay and 30% pinot noir. The base was 2015, but in total it contains 10 harvests. It was bottled at the beginning of 2016 and disgorged in March 2020. Four years on lees. Fantastic release. Drink or hold." 12/20.
Persistent mousse, with fine bubbles rising slowly. Pale salmon pink in color, with a shade of gold. A nose of red fruits and fresh pear. Delicate fruit on the palate, elegant, and showing great finesse. A lovely rosé in an almost vinous style, with mouthwatering acidity and a fine, lacy mousse carrying appealing flavors of ripe raspberry, white cherry fruit, star anise, mandarin orange peel and honeysuckle. Lightly chalky on the lasting finish. Enjoy with food. 93 Points - Wine Spectator. Currently based on the 2016 harvest, this is floral and citrussy, showing a lithe, graceful balance. It’s a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and...
Wine Enthusiast 95 points. Now perfectly mature, this Champagne still offers minerality as well as touches of freshness. It is structured from the Pinot Noir in the blend, crisp while also toasty. Drink now. Roger Voss. James Suckling 93 points. "This is a big, rich wine with lots of strawberry and red-apple character. It’s full and layered with very pretty fruit. Caressing and fresh at the same time. A bit ponderous. 40% pinot noir, 27% pinot meunier and the rest chardonnay. First time with pinot meunier in the blend, helping to maintain balance in the hot 2009 vintage. Drink or hold. "
Special Cuvee is a triumph of complexity and balance, at once rich and full, fresh and fine. Pinot noir (sixty percent) takes the lead with its rich fruit mince spice complexity, followed by the precise lemon zest freshness of chardonnay (twenty-five percent). Reserve wines bring Bollinger's signature yeasty, gingery notes, while barrel complexity adds a creamy texture and hints of brioche, nougat and almond. The finish pulls it all together into a masterfully controlled crescendo that lingers clean and long, with outstanding persistence and excellent, textural minerality. This wine has been precisely on form every time and everywhere I have...
Silver pale with lemony tints, the colour reflecting the cool growing season and general lightness of the vintage. White flowers and spring-like freshness on the nose with citrus elements and a hint of dry honey. Great purity of fruit on the palate, showing a light creaminess at the start contrasting to a taut Granny Smith acidity on the finish. A true reflection of Bride Valley’s chalky Kimmeridgian soil.
A first for England, Bride Valley’s Dorset Crémant is made from the harvests of the colder 2015 and 2016. At 3.7 bar, the lower fizz allows Dorset Crémant to ‘cream’ onto the palate. The Granny Smith acidity is there at the end. A perfect aperitif, displaying the beautiful, delicate qualities of English Sparkling Wine.
Honey, white peach and hints of pineapple are complemented by savory notes of roasted almond and toasted brioche. A fine mousse and refreshing acidity provides a remarkably refreshing drinking experience. Chenin Blanc grapes are handpicked and harvested for freshness and acidity at between 19.5o and 20.5o Balling. Grapes are pre-cooled and then whole bunch-pressed with the juice allowed to settle naturally. Half of the wine is naturally fermented in stainless steel tank, with fermentation being stopped to retain a certain percentage of the grapes own sugar. The barrel fermented portion is allowed to ferment naturally to dryness with periodic...
Tyson Stelzer 93+. "With...thirty percent declassified premier cru fruit in the blend, this is as cracking as I have ever seen Brut 17. A pristine bouquet of vibrant lemons and strawberry hull opens out into a palate of fantastic, linear freshness with great persistence, a fine, creamy bead and refreshing minerality. An ideal aperitif style. This champagne ranks as among the best value small producer champagnes. Super elegant champagne style." TS.
Forbes Magazine ~ "The Best champagne you've never heard of." This delightful Rosé Champagne is sourced entirely from Premier Cru grapes. It has managed to climb a crowded ladder to become Gordon Ramsay's restaurants' best selling Rosé champagne, and scores higher with the critics than the big name champagne houses at half the price. Dumangin and Sons are a fifth generation premier Cru champagne grower and maker, now into their fourth century of production. Definitely one to try. Decanter (UK), Steven Spurrier ~ Best Sparkling Wine. Tyson Stelzer 93+ Points. "The producer's best selling wine .....a very classy drink." James Suckling, 92...
Tasting notes The fragrance of its aroma, wich comes direct from the grapes, imbues this wine with an intense nose of musk, black locust and orange flowers, sage and honey, and the lingering of its carefree flavour brings out the brightest of spirits. The warmth arid light that the sun has shed on the vineyards are reproduced in the glass, where this clear, straw-yellow wine has a pleasantly sweet taste that is very well-balanced and features honey and just-picked grapes. Pairings A very appealing drink on its own, it is the ideal wine to be served with many kinds of sweet, particulary when they have a fine, delicate flavour.
80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meuniier. The Pinot Meunier reveals all the fullness of its fruit, and is completed by the Chardonnay with its distinguished freshness. 3-4g dosage. The bottles are left on the racks for a minimum of 5 years to gain complexity and depth. This is a very fine champagne from an excellent vintage.
Francis Orban leads 7.5 hectares of vineyards all in the commune of Leuvrigny, located on the right bank of the Marne, for an annual production of about 60,000 bottles, of which 80% are sold in France and the remaining 20% abroad . Intense and elegant, this Champagne Brut "Cuvée Prestige" by Francis Orban, is obtained from a cuvée assembled with 50% de vin de resérve of previous years. The pinot meunier (60%) gives weight and softness to the Champagne, to which chardonnay (40%) has been added to give elegance and grace. The result is an intense and elegant product, which plays on soft and fine lines, like a ballet dancer, that moves ethereal and graceful, while keeping intact the muscular power of the body. A game of subtle balances, which in the mouth, especially more than the nose, are expressed with body and gustatory grace. This Champagne spends 36 months on...

The NV Brut Premier is a gorgeous wine that stands head and shoulders above the vast majority of wines in its price range. Apparently, it is quite possible to make great Champagne that doesn’t cost a small fortune. Ripe pears, smoke, spices, dried flowers and herbs are some of the many nuances that emerge from the glass. The Brut Premier shows lovely mid-palate depth and fabulous overall balance. Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon has done it again. This is a fabulous Brut Premier. The Brut Premier is based on the 2007 vintage, with approximately 20% 2006 wines and 10% older reserves going back to 1996. The blend is approximately 40%...
Halliday Wine Companion 91 points. No new oak but the base wine spends 5 months in 2nd- and 3rd-use French hogsheads. Secondary fermentation in bottle, dosage with vintage port. Disgorged Oct '20. Purple/black colour, the same as the fruits within, all plums and berries and spiced up nicely with touches of cedar. A flash of sweet fruit across the otherwise full-bodied palate, finishing firm and dry. It's not just for Christmas, folks. Excellent match to spicy food, especially Chinese. 100% Chardonnay. Bianco Bianco is a naturally semi-sparkling wine made for Rocca delle Macìe in the province of Trento, within one of the most suitable areas for the cultivation of grapes intended for the production of spumante. Once harvested, the Chardonnay (100%) grapes are fermented without the skins, and then the base wine undergoes natural second fermentation. Bianco Bianco is fresh and fragrant, with overtones of just-ripe fruit. It has a fine, persistent bead that makes it suitable both as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to fried vegetable or fish platters.

Tyson Stelzer for James Halliday Wine Companion NV. 94 points. Sparkling Shiraz forms an integral part of the iconic Barossa tradition in viniculture. A celebration of the regions oldest and best loved grape variety, with bubbles to match. Unashamedly festive, sparkling Shiraz is the perfect addition to a holiday lunch or Sunday brunch. Beneath a rich shade of crimson lies at its heart a deep, complex stucture. Full of dried cranberry, cacao, blueberry and cherry. This wine is bold yet dazzling with a mosaic of flavours and a finish to match.
All that one would expect from a balanced Champagne. Doesn't hit the high notes of the hand-crafted or more precise Champagnes but balanced and infinitely drinkable. (16-Oct-2012) Jeannie Cho Lee
Excellent bone dry prosecco that ticks all the boxes. Pure fruit, excellent persistent bead, crisp acidity and clean, dry finish. DOCG quality through and through. Conegliano lies in the Valdobiaddene region of Veneto from which the very best of prosecco is sourced.. In terms of prestige in the hierarchy of prosecco it sits 2 rungs below the subregion of Cartizze (see Villa Sandi for our version). There are many other cheaper versions available in the market but for the few dollars more that the good stuff demands in price, there really is no point in skimping.
