95 Points 1940s vines. Textural, powerful, persistent. Lime juice and crystals, talc and spice, mineral. A hint of orange blossom. A trace of fruit sweetness. It’s pretty and it’s purposeful and it feels soft as it extends along your tongue. A treat of a wine. Halliday Wine Companion.
Morgante only deal with two elements....magnificent olive oil and the best Nero d'Avola grapes on planet Earth. Enigmatic, eccentric and unexpected… Bianco di Morgante is a white wine vinified from red grapes. The colour is soft golden yellow with greenish hues, the tannic texture is typical of a red wine with balanced acidity, a fruity trail and lingering finish. Bianco di Morgante pairs well with risottos, shellfish and fish dishes. Ideal served chilled.
WINERY NOTES: Chardonnay is a variety that allows you more freedom to make wines in a style that you like more than any other. Ours you will get a more delicate subtle version, moreish and complex. Grapes from our Morrison Vineyard were whole bunch pressed directly to barrel, fermented naturally using the vineyard yeasts, all in older French oak. A wine with delicate fruit flavours, some savoury complexity, nuttiness & vanilla, with a soft palate of pith like mineral texture, all underpinned by fine acidity. Matured for just under a year on lees prior to hand bottling without filtration. Certified organic, Morrison vineyard, Pisa.
Notes from Duncan: This Gruner Veltliner is medium weight in a dry style. Tim Aitken 92 points. Tasting notes Lots of buttered toast / brioche on the nose with some citrus aspects too. Tangerine fruit and citrus blossom fragrances are apparent, with hints of vanilla pod and almond flakes. These characteristics follow through onto the palate. The fine, fresh acidity is natural, and adds poise and focus to the wine.
2016 True Colours Chardonnay stone fruit| citrus | mineral | spice Vintage Notes “Vintage 2016 will be long remembered as the most compact growing season in living memory. A warm spring was followed by a warmer than average Summer but luckily we were spared from suffering through too many extreme over-40 degree spikes during the ripening period. The effect of this weather forced an acceleration of ripening but also a retention of fresh acidity due to the cool nights. It’s not surprising then to see ripe, generous characters on the 2016 wines”. Mark Nikolich - Senior Winemaker
WINERY NOTES: Our Pinot Gris features ripe peach, nectarine and Nashi pear aromas, heralding a vibrantly fruity, luscious palate. This combined with a very long, zesty finish complements rich or light seafood meals or most Asian-spiced cuisine, though its extraordinary versatility should be experienced over a wide range of dishes. This wine is drinking very well now and is expected to mellow over the next 3-4 years.
James Halliday 93 points. "Stone fruit notes wash over a creamy core of nougatine, toasted cashew and high quality vanilla pod oak. Some ambient yeast effects, too, akin to earth and truffles. This mid-weighted chardonnay manages to be both rich of flavour, compelling of texture and poised on the side of freshness and pointed length. Not a step out of place." Ned Goodwin Published 01 August 2019 COLOUR Brilliant straw NOSE Lifted bouquet of nectarines and stone fruits with an underlay of toasty spice. PALATE Barrel ferment characters add complexity while flavours of citrus and cashew swirl around the palate to give a long flavoursome finish....
James Halliday 93 points. "A fine free-flowing riesling oozing orange blossom, lime cordial, lemon drop, quince and apricot pith. No hard edges from overly zealous tweaking in the winery, either. A lovely drink framed by a maritime salinity and juicy acidity." Ned Goodwin Published 01 August 2019 COLOUR Crisp fresh straw. NOSE Vibrant aromas of orange blossom and lemon zest and floral tones. PALATE Vibrant flavours of citrus and rose petal on the palate leading to a crisp lemon finish. The mouth feel is balanced between natural acidity and the fruit weight.

A blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay & Pinot Meunier. Pours with a good frothy white mousse that dissipates relatively quickly to reveal a very pale straw base wine colour. Very fine bead showing excellent persistence. Aromas of citrus, pear, subtle yeast lees and toast. On the palate citrus, yeast lees and light baked bread flavours are overlaid by some toastiness. Clean crisp finish. Aftertaste of citrus, yeast lees and toast. Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Tyson Stelzer....94 points. A sparkling with elegance and finesse, Seppelt Salinger Vintage Cuvée is matured for three years in bottle on secondary fermentation lees. It shows citrus and green apple aromas with brioche and nutty characters derived from ageing on lees. The palate combines delicate citrus fruits with toasted brioche and creamy lees characters supported by a fine mineral acid structure, which produces an elegant, balanced wine with great length.

Wine Enthusiast 89-90 points. "Creeping back up to the quality of 2016, before the tricky '17 and '18 vintages, this release of relatively small batch Sauvignon is a charming, fruity little number. Peach and pineapple are backed by slightly reductive, white spice notes. It's the play between freshness and texture on the palate that reels you in. Slightly creamy in the mouth, it slithers over the tongue before being lifted to freshness by bright acidity." WINERY NOTES: Ten Sisters Sauvignon Blanc has a delightfully fragrant and complex bouquet with underlying citrus aromas. Single-vineyard sourcing allows the terroir its full expression and...

A terrificly vibrant and complex blend of three Rhone white varietals; Marsanne, Roussanne & Viognier. “Ravishing in all the textural and characterful complexity of whole bunch pressing, extended skin contact and partial new oak maturation, this is a blend that upholds the character of its three varieties with magnificent precision. To achieve all this with crunch, zest, vibrancy and persistence takes wizardry indeed. The result is one of the best warm climate white blends going.” - Tyson Stelzer 93 points. 2017 Vintage Tasting notes A layered & thought-provoking blend inspired by the whites of the Rhone Valley. Excellent bone dry prosecco that ticks all the boxes. Pure fruit, excellent persistent bead, crisp acidity and clean, dry finish. DOCG quality through and through. Conegliano lies in the Valdobiaddene region of Veneto from which the very best of prosecco is sourced.. In terms of prestige in the hierarchy of prosecco it sits 2 rungs below the subregion of Cartizze (see Villa Sandi for our version). There are many other cheaper versions available in the market but for the few dollars more that the good stuff demands in price, there really is no point in skimping.
