"A quintessentially Australian blend of 85% shiraz and 15% cabernet sauvignon, this is all violet, black cherry, cassis and root beer sass. Gently extracted to maximise the wine's energy, this is a fun parry of bright fruits, set against a thrust of acidity and dusty tannins. 91 Points. Established as a collaboration with the Hahn family in 1997, today Barossa winemaker Rolf Binder continues to produce the wines under the same label, with the JJ Hahn range now available in many countries. These are classic Barossa reds that represent exceptional drinkability and value.
A full-bodied, full-flavoured classic is the promise behind the very
deep brick red colour. Notes of tea leaf, cedar, sweet berries, spice,
chocolate and cigar box aromas fill the glass.
Ripe black forest fruits and spice are balanced by rounded tannins
and seamless structure. The palate reflects the nose with flavours of
cedar, stewed fruit and cigar box. Fine drying tannins. A pleasant
lingering finish with restrained oak notes of mocha and tobacco. A
fresh vibrant palate with good depth of flavour and layers of fruit.
Very tight wine that is complex but not confusing.
