As this magnificent vintage eases ever-closer towards its drinking window, its time to take the temperature of the waters and see whats what in the land of Gaullioses and dramatic eye rolls whenever a tourists asks for directions...
We will mask all six vintages so we can firstly try to identify left fro right bank. We will vote and see how close we are - with the basic assumption that I will get most of it wrong as per usual.
Once unmasked we will "work through this mid range price point and see what we like the most. I will provide all the usual data on blends, dates of harvest and which winemaker is sleeping with which, as all these attributes are vital to a deeper understanding of the wines and their repsective places in the sun...
We will start it early as its a Saturday for those who want to move onto dinner afterwards.

Chateau Haut Batailley 2020 [JS 94-95] Pauillac - Left Bank
Clos de L'Oratoire 2020 [JS 96] St-Emilion - Right Bank
We will decant and pour the wines (125ml each), seal under argon gas and have available for your collection from noon on Friday 26 June - the day before the event as I am travelling Saturday morning. You can elect to have delivery that Friday 26th for $15 if you wish.
The argon will assure premium drinking quality for up to three weeks, so if you are unfairly distracted by travel or less important tasks, you are free to taste at your leisure along with the taped recording of the tasting which will be sent to all participants afterwards.
