WA 95+ The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Hickinbotham Vineyard is the most backward and Pauillac-like of this trio. Its inky/purple color is followed by gorgeous aromas of cedar, black currant liqueur, flowers, licorice, and a notion of new oak in the background. This full-throttle, powerful, concentrated, well-delineated Cabernet Sauvignon should be at its finest between 2010-2025. RPJ Oct 2005.

Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it offers layer upon layer of evolving black fruit and exotic spice flavors supported by firm, grainy tannins and balancing acidity. It finishes with great length. Drink it now to 2024+.LPB May 2014.

WA 90. The 2004 Shiraz Prestige borders on being too oaky, but there is so much richness, density, and headiness that the oak should become better integrated with another 1-3 years of bottle age. It is interesting how this estate’s Shiraz cuvees have too much oak, whereas the other wines balance the oak component beautifully. RPJ Oct 2006.

Individual Presentation Box. WA 94. A prodigious, decadently rich effort, Oliverhill’s 2003 Shiraz Jimmy Section (15% alcohol) is a 100% Shiraz aged in French oak, of which one-third is new. It offers up a luxurious aromatic display of loamy earth, new saddle leather, blackberry liqueur, charcoal, and barbecue spices. Layered, chewy, full-bodied, and opulent with extravagant richness, sweet, supple tannin, and low acidity, this is a knock-out Shiraz to drink over the next 5-12 years. RPJ Oct 2004.

Shirvington Shiraz 2007 (WA 92)

SG$55.00
SG$55.00

WA 92   Shirvington’s 2007 Shiraz spent 14 months in 80% new, mostly American oak. It displays an excellent nose of cigar box, lavender, cocoa, black cherry, and blueberry. This leads to a full-bodied, dense, structured Shiraz which comes off as just a bit sinewy. Aside from that, it has plenty of savory fruit, good balance, and a lengthy finish. It will require 3-4 years of additional cellaring and should be in full bloom from 2013 to 2027.   JM Dec 2009

WA 95. The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Coach House Block Roennfeldt Road offers up fragrant notes of pain grille, pencil lead, tar, black currant, and blackberry. Full-bodied and voluptuous on the palate, this glossy effort conceals enough ripe tannin to evolve for another 5-7 years. It should be at its best from 2015 to 2030. JM Feb 2009.
