Les Heritiers Saint-Genys Beune 1er Cru Les Cent Vignes 2019

Capital of wines of Burgundy, Beaune is very well know for its famous Hospices and its auction in November.
Beaune is also one of the widest appellation on the Côte with 311 ha out of 410 and 42 premiers crus. Located
in the heart of the Côte-de-Beaune, a very large majority of the climates of this appellation are classified in 1er
Cru. Among most famous: Clos-du-Roy, Clos des Mouches, Beaune Grèves, Beaune Cent-Vignes, Beaune Avaux
or Beaune Bressandes.
TERROIR
Making a great wine without vines is mission impossible for the winegrower! In fact, this name comes from
"EN SANVIGNES", a village, near the source of the Genêt, in the 4th century, Gallo-Roman ruins attest to
ancient dwellings. The surrounding vines bore this name which was transformed into “HUNDRED VINES”.
NATURE OF SOILS: deep and rich. The subsoil is made up of marl rich in clay, which brings finesse but also
power to the wine.
ALTITUDE : around 250 m, facing East.

It’s a unique and strongly contrasting year. It brought its share of stress, with moments of tension, while the
harvest went very peacefully, for a final result which excited the professionals beyond their expectations. It
was hot and dry, but the wines displayed a freshness that will delight lovers of Burgundy wines, accompanied
by a deliciousness that will appeal.
