THE APPELLATION
The name would come from the Gallic "march" and of low Latin “mariscus, mariscelleus” words and
meaning "marsh, marshy places”. This is one of the 5 historical 1er crus officially recognized in 1943.

plot in Mercurey, among the most prestigious of the appellation, in Etroyes. It is part of the five first 1er crus recognized in1943. Quantities available are yet limited
This Cuvée is only made with the oldest vines of the Clos (over 60 years old)
We pay very much attention to this clos and had launched a vast rehabilitation program. We have replanted nearly 5 ha including the reintroduction of chardonnay. So we are now able to offer you this wine both in red and white since 2014 vintage.
