Description

100% Carignan from 80 year old bush vines. These old treasures are on original rootstock. The wine is matured in French barriques for 10 months then aged for a further 6 months in bottle before release. Rich ruby, garnet reflections. Red currants, raspberries and flower honey notes in beautiful interplay with elegant precious wood notes, cedar wood, supplemented by some peppery notes. Gentle start that gradually intensifies, redberry, reminiscent of cranberries and cherries; of good structure and juicy, velvet tannins; powerful and extremely aromatic to the characterful finale, which is accompanied by tobacco notes and smoke notes. Kanai is a place in Sant’Antioco particulartly suitable for wine production.
