This Grenache from Heathcote received a few hours skin contact while being gently pressed, fermented without the addition of yeast to dryness in old French barrels and spent five months maturing on yeast lees. It is a delicately coloured rosé, fresh and fragrant of roses, red currant and cranberry with a fresh, smooth, dry, textured palate. Schiava is the local native red grape grown in the region for over a thousand years. This example comes from vones of 20 to 50 years of age. Organic. We selected this fine rose from a lineup of 40 different labels from Provence. It ticks all the boxes for us....lifted aromatics, good acidity, full flavoured with a long, refreshing dry finish. Hard to beat.
