100% Chardonnay. Bianco Bianco is a naturally semi-sparkling wine made for Rocca delle Macìe in the province of Trento, within one of the most suitable areas for the cultivation of grapes intended for the production of spumante. Once harvested, the Chardonnay (100%) grapes are fermented without the skins, and then the base wine undergoes natural second fermentation. Bianco Bianco is fresh and fragrant, with overtones of just-ripe fruit. It has a fine, persistent bead that makes it suitable both as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to fried vegetable or fish platters.

This is the fourth vintage of this wine after re-planting. Our idea has always been to make what is basically a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from this unique vineyard. It is not a true single-vineyard in that we have blended in barrel selections of the best of our other vineyards. The Cabernet has a very intense cassis aroma with unique citrus-rind notes. It has a firmer tannin structure than many of our wines, but still with the elegance for which Jonkershoek Valley wines are known. Wine Advocate 91 points. The light red 2021 Tragolargo is a pure fruit-driven and young Monastrell from a vineyard on sandy and limestone soils in the Casa Balaguer property. It was picked early to preserve acidity and fermented with one-third full clusters and the rest uncrushed. In 2021 there was a heat wave that affected the whites, but they consider it a very good year for reds. It has 13.5% alcohol and a medium body, bottled unoaked, primary, young and fleshy. 25,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2022.  

Mataro was brought to Australia by James Busby in 1832 from Perpignan in the Roussillon in southern France and has shown its suitability to the Barossa Valley climate exceptionally well ever since. The broad appeal to Mataro lies in its earthy ruggedness and ability to show finesse and structure. Source blocks were selected for spice and lift, representing a fresher and more layered version of ‘Barossa Valley shiraz’. 15% whole bunch used to increase spice and structure, with 100% old oak allowing fruit to take the fore. A medium-bodied palate with juicy dark berry fruits, blueberries, violets, graphite and flint, held together with fine, supple tannins.
