"Coal River Valley pinot noir made by Samantha Connew. A very pretty bright ruby in the glass with aromas of amaro and blossom-flecked red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry fruits underscored with hints of spice, Peking duck, leaf litter, dried citrus rind, struck flint and earth. It smells gorgeous, and the palate follows up with smallgoods and undergrowth and mountain herb tones, finishing long with detail, sapid acidity and powdery tannins – it's a wonderful release. If you're ever down Tassie way, make sure you check out the new Pressing Matters cellar door too. It's a beauty. 96 points." Dave Brookes ...

Rocca delle Macie Bianco Bianco Chardonnay NV Brut
100% Chardonnay. Bianco Bianco is a naturally semi-sparkling wine made for Rocca delle Macìe in the province of Trento, within one of the most suitable areas for the cultivation of grapes intended for the production of spumante. Once harvested, the Chardonnay (100%) grapes are fermented without the skins, and then the base wine undergoes natural second fermentation. Bianco Bianco is fresh and fragrant, with overtones of just-ripe fruit. It has a fine, persistent bead that makes it suitable both as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to fried vegetable or fish platters.

It has already been chosen as one of Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines. #FRASS
Rockburn Pinot Gris 2023 [SK 94]
93/100 - Cameron Douglas MS - "An enticing bouquet with complexity and purity of fruit leading to a plate of the same. Flavours brown pears and golden apples, some white nectarine, lees and quince suggestion surrounded by a layer of spice and suggestions of site and sandy soils. The lees add complexity and mouthfeel, some older oak use adds complexity and breadth, the fruits layer in purity and mid-palate flavours. Balanced and well made with a decent level of complexity and lost of style. Best drinking from 2024 through 2029". 5 Stars (94/100) - Sam Kim (Wine Orbit) - "It's elegantly expressed on...
Rockcliffe Third Reef Shiraz 2018 [RJ 92]
Ray Jordan 92 points "A juicy and vibrant shiraz chock-full of plummy ripe fruit displaying a little spice and damp, earthy characters among the more perfumed exotic notes. The palate has a grainy texture with chalky tannins and a little oak balancing the medium weight fruit. The 30% new oak adds that little extra dab of spice on the finish. Best drinking now to 2028." WINERY NOTES: COLOUR Deep crimson with a purple hue NOSE Elegant perfumed bouquet of bramble fruits and savoury spice. PALATE The palate displays considerable fruit concentration of plum and dark berries. The fine ripe tannins are very well integrated with fruity and...

The wine is matured in French barriques for 10 months then aged for a further 6 months in bottle before release. Rich ruby, garnet reflections. Red currants, raspberries and flower honey notes in beautiful interplay with elegant precious wood notes, cedar wood, supplemented by some peppery notes. Stark-Conde Oude Nektar Cabernet 2017 [TA 97 ,5 * P]
This is the fourth vintage of this wine after re-planting. Our idea has always been to make what is basically a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from this unique vineyard. It is not a true single-vineyard in that we have blended in barrel selections of the best of our other vineyards. The Cabernet has a very intense cassis aroma with unique citrus-rind notes. It has a firmer tannin structure than many of our wines, but still with the elegance for which Jonkershoek Valley wines are known. This wine is based around the highest elevation vineyard on the estate, which at 550m is arguably one of Stellenbosch’s highest Cabernet vineyards....
Tedeschi Corasco Rosso Trevenezie IGT 2018 [Ve 91]
Veronelli 91 points. WINERY NOTE: The wine is produced with typical grapes selected in the Venetian area: Corvina comes from the morainic hills of Valpolicella, Raboso comes from Oderzo (Treviso), and Refosco is selected in the Aquileia area. This wine is produced with a traditional Veronese technique: the drying of the grapes. In reality it is a partial drying: the grapes placed in the loft for about a month lose about 8-10% of their initial weight. In this way they are enriched in sugars, increase the dry extract, the ashes and the color of the wine. Wine with good tannic structure, in balance with alcohol, which gives it roundness: the...
The Foundry Grenache Blanc 2022 [Platter 5]
PLATTER’S GUIDE 2024 - 5-STAR AWARD PLATTER’S GUIDE 2024 - BEST GRENACHE BLANC VITICULTURE Grown on Malmesbury shale and decomposed granite, these trellised vines allow us to precisely manage the canopy to enhance fruit, complexity and balance. VINIFICATION Hand harvested and cooled overnight, this was whole-bunch pressed to restrain phenolics, yet was fermented with a high percentage of solids to give breadth and definition to the palate. 55% was fermented in seasoned tight-grain French oak Allier and Compiègne hogsheads, and 45% of the wine in 500- and 1000-litre terracotta clay doliums preserving the crystalline purity...
Tragolargo Monastrell 2021 [WA 91]
Wine Advocate 91 points. The light red 2021 Tragolargo is a pure fruit-driven and young Monastrell from a vineyard on sandy and limestone soils in the Casa Balaguer property. It was picked early to preserve acidity and fermented with one-third full clusters and the rest uncrushed. In 2021 there was a heat wave that affected the whites, but they consider it a very good year for reds. It has 13.5% alcohol and a medium body, bottled unoaked, primary, young and fleshy. 25,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2022.
Turkey Flat Barossa Valley Mataro 2021 [RR, WF 95]
Mataro was brought to Australia by James Busby in 1832 from Perpignan in the Roussillon in southern France and has shown its suitability to the Barossa Valley climate exceptionally well ever since. The broad appeal to Mataro lies in its earthy ruggedness and ability to show finesse and structure. While often used as a blending component, at Turkey Flat we feel Mataro deserves to star in its own right as a single varietal. The Real Review: "Ink black core with a deep purple rim. Deep and dark aromas of plum, blood and tar tell a story that resonates on the intense and weighty palate. Cola spices fill in as it builds long, caressed...
Turkey Flat Butcher's Block Shiraz 2023

A medium-bodied palate with juicy dark berry fruits, blueberries, violets, graphite and flint, held together with fine, supple tannins. Smooth & delicious. Drink now!
Turkey Flat Grenache 2021 [JH 96, Trophy]
Trophy, Queensland Royal Wine Show 2023. Gold Medal, Barossa Wine Show 2022. "The estate vines are predominantly over 100 years old and the ’16 vintage won the ’17 Jimmy Watson Trophy. Bright, clear colour announces a perfumed red flower and fruit bouquet, the palate taking that cue and adding some purple fruit and gently savoury notes for the finish. Great value." - James Halliday, 96 points. Turkey Flat has more than 25 years experience in making Grenache. This older variety for South Australia has a natural home in the Barossa, although respect for the variety as a maker of fine wine has only recently been achieved....
