Such a consistently delicious grenache – a regional benchmark, if you will. From 100+-year-old vines, lightly coloured and with a bright, filigreed aromatic profile, the Turkey Flat grenache is always a beautiful wine to drink and a regular on my 'must buy' list. The '22 release doesn't disappoint with its detail and sense of space on the palate, flush with airy red fruits, ginger spice, floral facets, powdery tannins and light meaty tones as the wine fans out on the exit. It's beautiful drinking. 96 points. Dave Brookes Published 09 May 2024

Decanter Magazine....Top 10 Wines of Australia 2020. “Renowned for producing fine wines in Jerez, Pedro Ximènez (or PX) can really excel in other part of the world. Fragrant Pink Lady apples, white peach, raspberry, and floral citrus all leap out the glass, with lively Turkish delight and musk adding depth and spice. The palate is tightly woven with an abundance of red berry fruits, peach, and citrus flavours. A tightly coiled acid line full of energy and tension, is perfectly balanced with an elegant mouthfeel and textural grip. The finish is long and focused full of sophistication and control."   WINEMAKING Each individual vineyard was picked and vinified separately at...

James Suckling 92 points. 2022 Vintage Tasted: Jul 2025 "Aromas of fresh blackberries, spiced dark cherries and a touch of dark chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied with nicely chewy, dusty tannins. Not a wine with great depth, but there is lovely balance to it." Drink now or hold.

James Halliday Wine Companion 97 points. "The Vanguardist calling card, the defining wine. Deeply savoury and intense, layered, detailed, chiselled, seriously complex. The vintage conditions were a little easier in '24 than '23, with a little more warmth, but this continues the Vanguardist upward trajectory with a theme of transparency, elegance and refined detail. Dehydrated cranberry and goji, barberry, amaro herbs and spicing, dried citrus peel, rye, caraway, pumpernickel, sun-warmed terracotta, pressed wildflowers. A sour-fruited tension to flavour and structure runs through it. It’s a wine that is so captivating on...
