Mulline Geelong Sutherland's Creek Fume Sauvignon Blanc 2022 [JH 95]

Four days on skins and pressed to 35% new French cigar-shaped barrels. A straw gold with green tinges. With its scents of orange and lemon pith, blackcurrant, curry leaves and fennel seeds, this is not your average sauvignon blanc. Just as good on the textured, saline palate, which closes with a touch of grip from the skin-contact derived phenolics that give the wine structure and length. Impressive stuff. 80 dozen made. 95 points.
