Inviting aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, rosemary stem and pipe tobacco. Full-bodied with velvety tannins. Red and black-fruited with leafy herbal complexity. Long and steady with pleasant tension. Rich in the mid-palate, but not overblown one bit. Drink or hold.

The 2018 Anwilka is an altogether different wine than the 2017. This is broodier and earthier on the nose compared to the 2017, and very intense, developing licorice and saline/marine scents with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. It feels sinewy and assertive toward the middle and finish, and drier than the previous vintage, with a tobacco and melted tar aftertaste.
