Mulline Geelong Modewarra Syrah 2023 [JH 96]

A single-vineyard wine from the Surf Coast; 50% whole bunches and matured in French puncheons (25% new). A lovely bright crimson. Perfumed with red and black fruits, lifted spice and a very gentle meatiness. It's a great sign too, just how integrated, as a young wine, the whole bunches are. Vibrant and energetic in the mouth. Nicely structured too, with its good acidity and gently crunchy, fine tannins. An altogether excellent cool-climate syrah. 96 points.
