By Farr Farrside Pinot Noir 2021 [JH 96]

SG$96.00
SG$96.00

The structure of this wine is next level. It's a meaty, minerally, undergrowth-driven pinot noir with cool cherry and herb flavours, rhubarb-like bass notes, an emphatic firmness and excellent length. The dryness of the finish here is something in itself: it's like twigs rolled in earth rolled in tobacco.96 points. Campbell Mattinson Published 20 October 2023.   The Farrside vineyard sits on a northeast-facing slope and consists of limestone topped with black volcanic soil. The vines were planted in 2001 and run east-west to protect the fruit from overexposure to the sun. The clones are a mixture of 114, 115, 777, 667 and MV6....

Cantina Kaltern Alto Adige Pinot Nero 2020 (WA 92)

SG$45.00
SG$45.00

Wine Advocate 92 points. This is a terrific entry-level red that offers plenty of varietal typicity with a very attractive price tag. The Cantina Kaltern 2020 Alto Adige Pinot Nero delivers all the goods: freshness, elegance and a no-fuss style to pair with white meat or even a spaghetti allo scoglio with seafood and chopped tomato, if served a few degrees chilled. I'd suggest buying this wine by the case, not by the bottle, and make sure to drink it while all that beautiful primary fruit is still intact. Some 95,000 bottles were made.ML Sep 2021. #Alto

Cantina Tramin Alto Adige "Maglen" Pinot Noir Riserva 2019 [WA93+]

SG$60.00
SG$60.00

Wine Advocate 93+ The Cantina Tramin 2019 Alto Adige Pinot Noir Riserva Maglen reveals a medium dark color with good complexity and robust aromas of dark cassis, wild cherry, black rose and grilled herb. Aged in barrique for 12 months with six months cement and six months bottle, the wine delivers good fruit weight with soft tannins and broad intensity. In that regard, this is not your classic northern Italian Pinot Noir. This 11,000-bottle release could pair with gamey foods such as wild game hen, thanks to that extra intensity. ML Dec 2022. James Suckling 93 points. This really shows how much Alto Adige’s winemakers have learned...

Winestate Magazine, Trophy, Best in Category, 98 points. HUON HOOKE, THE REAL REVIEW 2022, 95 points. "Medium depth purple-red colour, very bright and youthful, the aromas are of fragrant spices and red cherries: a really beautiful bouquet. The palate follows on from there and is intense and superbly balanced, with raspberry and red licorice added to the cherry. A subtle smoky patina from oak. Fruit-sweet core, and a long, long carry: a magical pinot." WINEMAKING Heralding from three exceptional sites of Huon Valley, Lower Derwent Valley and Coal River Valley, each parcel of fruit was then fermented and matured separately in large...

60/40% upper/lower Yarra Valley fruit. Hand picked and open-fermented with 60% whole berries, the remainder whole bunches. A very bright, light–medium crimson red. A gentle waft of fresh raspberries and cranberries, with just the right amount of spice-rack spices. Delicious right out of the gate, this medium-bodied and refreshing wine will age well too. The perfect introduction to modern Yarra pinot. 96 points. Philip Rich Published 29 December 2021

Michael Cooper 98 points:   "Deeply coloured, it is mouthfilling, with concentrated plummy, spicy flavours, youthful and complex, and a finely textured, lasting finish. Set for a long life, it’s well worth cellaring."  Michael Cooper    5 stars - Winestate. Winery Note: Our estate grown Pinot Noir with generous richness & flavour concentration. Layers of ripe fruit, floral and spice unfold on the palate with a delicate tannin line. Unfined and bottled on site. Over 60% of our vines are Pinot Noir and the whole reason we exist on these limestone slopes is to make great Pinot. These calcareous clay soils...

Mount Pleasant Old Hill Pinot Noir 2021 [JH 95]

SG$89.00
SG$89.00

This wine has been handled with kid gloves: hand picked and destemmed, 10% retained as whole bunches. Held in cold soak for three days, open fermented with thrice daily plunging; eight days on skins, then matured in French puncheons for eight months. The colour is excellent, and the abundant red fruits and superfine tannins are as good as they come. A new Hunter Valley style that challenges the idea that the Hunter is too hot for pinot noir. 95 points. James Halliday Published 14 February 2023. This rare wine is produced from the original pinot noir vines brought to Australia by James Busby.in 1833.
