Nussbaumer is Italy’s most awarded Gewürztraminer. A wine where the elegance and spicy aromatics of this ancient variety find their maximum expression. James Suckling 93 points. Wonderful nose of yellow roses, fresh pineapple and jasmine, with delicately spicy overtones. Stunning ripeness and concentration, but even more importantly, almost impeccable balance for a grape variety that’s a winemaker’s nightmare. Very long, silky finish, where the 15% alcohol is barely perceptible. Drink or hold. Aroma: A kaleidoscope of aromas: rose petals, spicy blossoms of lilies, ylang-ylang, gardenia; ripe exotic yellow fruits such as cantaloupe, mango, passion fruit, lychee, citrus zest; spicy notes of dried herbs, ginger, saffron, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste: Deeply aromatic, rich in body and essences, but with fine juiciness and salty minerality increasing with age, a nearly endless finish.
