At Osborne, the company that produces it in Spain’s Jerez region, they consider Brandy 1866 Gran Reserva a masterpiece. It is made from the distillation, in old copper stills, of selected wines that are subsequently aged in sherry casks that have been the birthplace of the winery’s best fine wines. This aging takes place using a unique, unprecedented system made up of 16 levels, or criaderas. A process with more than one hundred years of history that creates a smooth brandy of great aromatic complexity and with a special salinity in the mouth, characteristics that have made it worthy of such distinguished recognition.
